"Woody Warblings"
"Death: John Adcock died Thursday of last week and his remains were interred in the Dunnegan Cemetery.  George Browning and wife and William Jones of Virden attended the funeral, he being a brother of the women."

John Adcock was born in Greene County, Illinois on the 11th day of April, 1832.  He is a son of Isham and Rachel (Stinnett) Adcock, natives of the state of Kentucky.  His father died on the 18th day of April, 1857, while living on what is known as the Jonas Ward farm, about one and one-half miles northeast of the town of Woodville.
His mother is still living, and resides with her children.
On the 16th day of June, 1859, John Adcock was married to
Lydia Hooper, a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Witt) Hooper.
Mr. Adcock has a farm of 160 acres on Sec. 36, T. 10, R. 13, and owns a house and lot in Woodville.
He is a steady, industrious farmer and well-respected in the community in which he resides.
